White Rock Roadhouse in Glen Rose, Texas (Demolished)

The White Rock Roadhouse in Glen Rose, Texas was torn down a few years ago because it was to dangerous to leave standing. (Photo taken in April 2015).

At one time the house served as a roadhouse, speak easy during the prohibition era, possibly a grocery store, then served as a residence. During the speak easy days, the road house received its liquor supply from the now abandoned service station next door. These two locations were some of the most popular in Glen Rose at that time.

Today the old service station is still a great photo stop.

About the Image

The image was shot by hand during the late overcast mid afternoon using natural light with my Sony Nex-3N and a Sony SEL16F28 16mm f/2.8 lens. I then edited the images with Adobe Lightroom CC and Topaz Labs Denoise AI and Topaz Labs Sharpen AI and DXO NIK Collection to clean up the image, remove noise, and recover the lost details.
