Last week was a rough one. Between working nine days straight and using my free time prepping for family coming into town and leaving for vacation, I have been neglecting articles on all of my sites. Now that I am on vacation, I can catch up on my writing.

Danger High Pressure Stay Back-Rusty Old Pipe

My wife and I finally took a much needed vacation this year. Actually it was family reunion for her side of the family. They get together every five years to catch up and have a little fun.

For this reunion, they decided on visiting Folly Beach, South Carolina. At some point, I will go more into detail about this little beach community/town.

Once I finally made it down to the beach, we had to cross over a large and rusty pipe. Every few feet it said “Danger High Pressure Stay Back.” Once you get up close to cross the pipe, you can hear the high pressure water flowing through the pipe.

Later I found that this pipe was carrying a mixture of sand and water that being sucked up from the large platform, boats, and machines that were a few miles off shore. The pipe stretched for several miles a long the beach and goes out to the platform. One of the workers told me they were dredging to bring the eroded sand back to the beach.

Then late last night they finished up and removed the pipe. I think they moved down the beach. If I can find the construction zone, I plan to shooting the equipment.
