Over the last few months I have following the rumors and pre- release reviews for the new Canon PowerShot G3 X Digital Camera and I have to say that it’s a great looking and powerful entry-level long-zoom camera.

Canon PowerShot G3 X Digital Camera Features

The Canon PowerShot G3 X Digital Camera is an easy to use and grab and go camera that can be used as a fully manual camera that is compact and has the zoom of a telephoto lens but in a small package point-n-shoot. Its sports a 1.0-inch, 20.2 Megapixel High-Sensitivity CMOS Sensor and a 25x power zoom.

Use it to take landscapes, low noise low-light images, close up wildlife shots, or use it as your everyday camera. If you need to shoot video, you can shoot 108op full HD video and then share the images/video through Wi-Fi. For a complete list of features and specs check out Amazon sale’s page.

My Thoughts

The Canon PowerShot G3 X Digital Camera is an impressive camera. Its powerful and one of the few point-n-shoot cameras that can go into full manual mode and work as an entry-level DSLR without the hassle of changing lenses.

I have always had good luck with Canon point-n-shoot cameras and have been drooling over the G series camera line for years. In previous models the images produced look great and I thought one of these would be a great backup camera or quick grab-and-go camera when I didn’t want to carry my gear with me.

After finding out this model didn’t have an electric view finder or even a view finder question how good of a manul camera this can be. I find it hard to believe this camera will work for everything. In bright direct sunlight, the screen may not be bright enough and for night photography, you might not be able to manually focus on your subject. Until I can get my hands on one of these and do some testing, I can not give a review. But if only using the viewing screen works for you, then this could be your next camera.
