BlitzWolf BW-F3 IP65 Waterproof Outdoor Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker – The Review

Just over a month ago BlitzWolf sent me a BlitzWolf BW-F3 IP65 Waterproof Outdoor Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker as a prize for winning a Facebook contest on their page. They gave me the option of the BW-F3 or the BW-F2. Both of these speakers looked to have great potential but having used single speaker systems in the past and not being a fan of them, I decided to go with the BW-F3.

After winning the contest, they sent me a coupon code to order it from Amazon for free and I received the speaker much faster than a previous BlitzWolf order.

Even before opening the simple no hassle packaging I could tell the BlitzWolf BW-F3 IP65 Waterproof Outdoor Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker was made well. Its heavier than most portable speakers on the market. For some this might be an issue but for those needing a more rugged speaker, this is a good start.

After opening the package, I looked over the speaker and its build quality. I found that this unit is built to last. The AUX and USB cords were standard OEM cables that I replaced with Anker Cables (I don’t have any BlitzWolf Cables yet). Its made to last. The body is made from sturdy plastic with rubber edges to help cushion during impacts. Its held together with large screws and sealed off from getting water into the internals.

The Power, Play/Stop, and reverse/forward buttons work easily and show no signs of moisture getting inside. The AUX and power ports have a rubber door that seals it up when not in use. From my testing it looks like it should hold up. Just make sure not to tug on it, it might rip off.

As to the operation, it works better than I thought it would. It connects to my LG G4 on the first try (most devices have issues) and it stays connected to about 30 feet. As long as you have a good charge on your handset and the device you will have a good connection. Even if you have your phone in your pocket and the speaker sitting on the counter 20 feet away, you can get good sound. You do loose some distance, I would suggest keeping your handset out in the open when listening to music.

I only tried out the hands free feature once. It was only to answer the phone and switch off Bluetooth for a private call. At some point I will test this out, but I think it works ok when answering the phone.

When it comes to music, I am very picky about the devices that play my music. Crappy players annoy me and I tend to listen to music on my headphones or on the home stereo. I have 3 or 4 portable single speaker systems collecting dust because I prefer to listen on a better device.

After doing a complete charge, I synced up the speaker to my phone and loaded Spotify. The first thing I noticed was the speaker was loud. If you play heavy base songs, it distorts the base. To avoid this, just turn the music down to 80%. If you need it louder buy a larger music player. At 80% you still get a nice base note and the music sounds good. Its better than I had hoped. Now I listen more on the portable speaker than I listen to my home stereo.

I use it when I’m working in the workshop, stables, in the garden, and even when I’m on the tractor. In the house, I have it setup on the bathroom counter and I listen as I take a shower and getting ready for work.

BlitzWolf says the device is waterproof but I read on another site listing not to get it wet. To be on the safe side, I won’t be playing in the water with it. But I won’t worry about moisture, water, mud, or anything wet getting on it and damaging it.

I love this speaker, its by far the best one I’ve listen to and like what it sounds like. I’ve listen to other devices at the store and haven’t been impressed. This speaker system sounds good, looks good, and is made to last.

One feature that I found that could be useful is the tripod mount on the underside of the speaker. It has a screw mount hole so you can mount it to your bike. Just screw in the mount and connect it to your bike.

If you are in the market for a high quality and durable waterproof portable bluetooth speaker then the BlitzWolf BW-F3 IP65 Waterproof Outdoor Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker will work for you. These portable speakers sound as good the premium brands, quality is a good as the premium ones and cost a lot less then buying a premium brand.
