AmazonBasics 10W Qi Certified Fast Charging Wireless Stand – The Review

AmazonBasics 10W Qi Certified Fast Charging Wireless Stand

I’ve been using the AmazonBasics 10W Qi Certified Fast Charging Wireless Stand for two months and it works as designed. It charges as fast any 10W QI Certified fast wireless charger and it looks good and the supplied Micro-USB cable is descent cable that can handle the power and not get hot.

The charger I received from Amazon is White and looks great. It’s well made. The stand is wide enough to allow for most wireless charging phones. The phone when placed in the cradle is balanced. As long as the charger, table the charger is sitting on, and the phone isn’t bumped it should stay on the charger charging

I found the cable to be on the short side. It barely reaches the from the edge of standard height bedside table. So I replaced the cable with a longer Anker Micro-USB Cable I had lying around. This cable is a better made cable but the charging times to be almost the same. So getting a premium cable isn’t needed unless you need a longer cable.

I also had a PowerPort Atom III that I had in my travel kit and use it for testing. Its a 60W 3.0 and 3.0IQ and Anker’s version of IQ. This charger works great and charges the phone at max speed. But its to much power so I used an old Samsung tablet wall charger that I believe is a 10W charger for daily use. I found no different in charge times.

Placing the charging on the cradle is pretty easy. Even with a UAG Case I found that I could place the phone on the cradle and get it charging on one try. Then on other tries it could take several tries or the phone starts charging and then stops charging after a few minutes.

To help let the user know that the phone is charging, there are status lights. In standby, the cradle is an ugly bright green light that lights up the room. When it’s placed on the cradle the light turns to a modern bright blue that is flashing. Once the phone finds the sweet spot and starts charging, the blue light stops flashing. If it starts flashing again, it lost its connection and needs to be reseated. Once the phone has completed its charge the light will turn great again. It will trickle charge and keep the phone at 100%.

As I mentioned earlier, the AmazonBasics 10W Qi Certified Fast Charging Wireless Stand charges just as fast as my other wireless chargers. Charge time averaged  2.5 hours from 20% to 100% full and 3.5 hours for less than 10% to 100%. Plus the charger doesn’t get hot like other chargers. It does get warm as most chargers do.

Final Thoughts

AmazonBasics 10W Qi Certified Fast Charging Wireless Stand

This is a great upright charger. It turns my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 into alarm clock. When its charging the time is always showing like old alarm clock. I use this charger every night. but I don’t like the status lights. They are to bright! Its lights up the room and hurts my eyes when I sleep at night. I ended up covering the lights with a couple items on my bed side. At some point I will put some electrical tape over the status light.

The AmazonBasics 10W Qi Certified Fast Charging Wireless Stand is your standard fast wireless charger that can be used by almost any phone that has wireless charging.

As of this review, there are only a handful of reviews on Amazon and the ratings aren’t that great. But after reading over the review, I believe the bad reviews are people complaining about it not coming with a wall charger or it was to slow/not charging. Most OEM wall chargers and cheap generic wall chargers don’t have the power to pull max charge to the the wireless charger. I recommend getting a charger with 10W or better and has 2.0 IQ or better. Just keep in mind wireless charging takes an hour or longer to charge your phone compared to charging directly connected to the phone.

Even with the listed issues, I still recommend getting a AmazonBasics 10W Qi Certified Fast Charging Wireless Stand. Its great low budget wireless charger and looks good on the desk or on the bedside table.
