The Review
I’ve been using the Alienware 7.1 PC Gaming Headset AW510H for about five months and I have to say I am impressed with the quality of sound that comes out these headphones. I use my headphones for mostly Playing Gears of War 5 and similar games on my Alienware m15, Video calls, and watching movies on my laptop.
Since getting my new laptop (Alienware m15 r2) I’ve been playing Gears of War 5 using my laptop speakers or Bluetooth Over-the-Ear premium headphones. The sound for the game was OK and watching movies was better. Once I got my new Alienware 7.1 Gaming Headset I realized what I was missing! The speakers do a good job at separating sounds and now I can tell when I’m gaming if something is behind me, small background noises I missed before and overall a better experience.
Listening to music and watching YouTube videos were impressive as well. High quality music across the highs, mids and low.
I haven’t had the chance to test out the mic. But having it plugged in and extended or retracted doesn’t causing sound issues as some users reported.
Unfortunately these headsets are wired. But Alienware provides a connection via audio USB or through the AUX port. It even provides 2 channel into 1 option.
Now on to the comfort levels…
These headphones are heavy and over sized. They are designed for sitting at desk or in a stationary position. Leaning over will cause the headphones to slide forward or fall off (sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t). Even with these issues they are comfortable to wear for hours of game play or watching movies.
