This week’s Random Image of the Week is of the same Abandoned Gymnasium I posted about back in August 2018 but this  one is just one of the sad images I took of the interior of the gym.

 Abandoned Gymnasium

Abandoned Gymnasium in Texas Hill Country – The Interior

In my previous article I wrote about what little history I knew about the old school. I won’t retell that story here. If you want know more about this old school  and its gymnasium or see what the abandoned gymnasium looks like, click one of the earlier links.

This abandoned gymnasium along with the buildings on this old school property are in bad shape. The oldest buildings are in the worse shape. The neighbors try and watch the school and run off vandals (they caught kids and adults riding quads and dirt bikes inside the gym!) but, they can’t watch the place all the time and some get past them.

The gym roof is full of holes. The once beautiful wooden gym floors were ruined by the rains. Some of the windows have been knocked out and it just dirty from the dirt bikes and ATVs playing in there.

Sadly the old gymnasium won’t be around much longer.

About the Image

The image was shot by hand on a bright sunny day with bright light back lighting the windows. I used my Sony a6000 and a Sony SEL16F28 16mm f/2.8 lens for this shot. I then edited the image in Adobe Lightroom CC. I used Topaz Labs A.I. Clear and DXO NIK Collection to clean up the image, remove noise, and recover the lost details.
