This week’s random image is from a business trip to Mexico, Missouri and the drive took me through to a small town in Oklahoma. In that town I came across an old vintage hotel sign. The location is the Monterey Motel in Chouteau, Oklahoma

Monterey Motel in Chouteau, Oklahoma
The Monterey Motel is an abandoned (or just closed) motel that hasn’t seen a customer in years. The motel might be still active but being used for something else. But for the most part, the buildings have been ignored. The buildings seem to be in decent shape, but the old sign has seen better days.
About the Image
The image was shot by hand late in the afternoon after the storms passed by. When shooting the sign, you can see the storm clouds in the back and from the other direction its just cloudy. I shot the sign with my Sony Nex-3N and a Sony SEL16F28 16mm f/2.8 lens. I then edited the image in Adobe Lightroom. Next, I post processed with Topaz Clarity to add texture, brighten, and bring out the details in the image. Then I removed the dust spots. Finally, I used Topaz DeNoise to remove the noise from the image.
