This week’s random image is from a road trip that took me from Oklahoma City, OK to Wichita Falls, Texas and through several small towns south east of Wichita Falls. One of my stops was at the long time abandoned Triple DDD Motel in Wichita Falls, Texas off old HWY-287.

The Long Time Abandoned Triple DDD Motel in Wichita Falls, Texas

The Triple DDD Motel in Wichita Falls, Texas has been closed for years. The current owners have abandoned most of the buildings and used the rest for storage. For years, the owners had several old cars parked in the lot that looked as if they were left behind after the place closed down. But over the years, the owners have added more junk cars and other items to the lot. The property is secured by a fence topped with barbed wire and closed to the public.

Final Thoughts

I have always wanted to visit the Triple DDD Motel in Wichita Falls, Texas  but, didn’t want to drive down there to shoot the old signs on its own. And I was right, the place isn’t worth the trip alone. But if you are passing through town, its worth the stop. As long as the signs still stand, its worth a stop just to see the signs. They don’t make signs like that anymore.

About the Image

This image was shot by hand with my Sony Nex-3N and a Sony SEL16F28 16mm f/2.8 as the storms passed by. I then edited the images in Adobe Lightroom. I then post processed it with Topaz Clarity to add texture, bright the image, and bring out the details in the image. Then I removed the dust spots and rain spots. I then used Topaz DeNoise to remove the noise from the image.
