This week’s random image is of an abandoned farm house in Hunt County, Texas. I drive by it  a few times over the years to see if I can get a better shot of the house. But its surrounded by trees and it makes it difficult to get a good shot of the house. In January 2020 I decided to take some pictures since the trees will probably outlast the house.

To protect the house and give the land owners some privacy I won’t be sharing its location. Once the house is either renovated or torn down I will update the article.

The house is located in the North East part of Hunt County, Texas just a few miles from Collin County. Its in bad shape and each time I see it, it gets a little worse. I haven’t found any information about the house but there is a new house sitting near by. My guess is the house has been abandoned for years and when the land was sold the new owners built their new and will eventually tear down this one at some point.

I plan on sharing this house over at Vanishing Texas at some point. When that happens I will pull the public records and see what info I can find.

About the Image

The  abandoned farm house in Hunt County, Texas  was shot on gloomy day using my Sony a6000 and my Sony SELP18105G E PZ 18-105mm F4 G OSS.  I then edited the image with Adobe Lightroom CC and Topaz Labs Denoise AI and Topaz Labs Sharpen AI and DXO NIK Collection to clean up the images, remove noise, and recover the lost details.
