Back in February 2020 I made to the trip out to Rodney to check out the renovation project On my back to Brookhaven I decided to check out the old church in Church Hill, Mississippi and get some pictures of the old church. While driving down Rodney Road, I noticed a recent tract of forest that been clear cut and hidden in the woods was an Abandoned Farm House Near Rodney, Mississippi
Abandoned Farm House Near Rodney, Mississippi
I’ve driven Rodney Road for several years and maybe gone down it 20 or 30 times over the years and I’ve never seen this old house. The trees were so think it was hidden in the trees.
It’s old but, hold old is what I want to know. My guess is the house was built when the land was still being farmed. Maybe 1930s to the 1950s? Then after the farming was abandoned the trees were allowed to grow back. Then the house became a deer lease/camp house. You can even see where the owners use to collect rainwater from the roof.
About the Image
The image of the Abandoned Farm House Near Rodney, Mississippi was shot on a sunny late afternoon. I shot this house from the road and zoomed in to see details. I used my Sony a6000 with my Sony SELP18105G E PZ 18-105mm F4 G OSS. I then edited the images with Adobe Lightroom CC and Topaz Labs Denoise AI and Topaz Labs Sharpen AI and DXO NIK Collection
