This week’s random image is of an abandoned house in Gloster, Louisiana I came across as I was passing through town to photograph some old buildings in Keachi, Louisiana.

Abandoned House in Gloster, Louisiana

Abandoned House in Gloster, LouisianaI first noticed the abandoned house in Gloster, Louisiana as I was coming into town. I barely noticed the house. But I could tell it was an old house and worth turning around for a better look. It’s tucked in around some newer homes and judging by its look it was built outside of town and may have had some land. The town grew up around the house.

The house is an old one. You can tell it was built to last. Someone even added an addition that gives this house an L-Shape. Its in bad shape. The roof is pealing up and some of the windows are knocked out.  From the road the house looks like it could be saved. But once the roof gets large holes, it won’t take long for the rest house to fail.

About the Image

The  abandoned house in Gloster, Louisiana image was shot on gloomy day using my Sony a6000 and my Sony SELP18105G E PZ 18-105mm F4 G OSS with a Gobe UV Filter. I then edited the image with Adobe Lightroom CC and Topaz Labs Denoise AI and Topaz Labs Sharpen AI and DXO NIK Collection to clean up the images, remove noise, and recover the lost details.
