For a lot of people they wouldn’t call this a farmhouse, just an old run down house near town. For me, I look at the old house and can I see details of the old house and additions that were added on over the years.

Between those changes and the more modern houses and buildings surrounding it tells me as the town expanded, the land was sold off but the house was kept. I’m not sure of the age. But seeing the front door is off to the side and not centered like most homes from 60 to 80 years ago, tells me this house may been built in the l800s when houses were still being build with 2 front doors. Over time many of these old homes had the second door closed off and when the siding was replaced, the door frame was removed. Most would never know there was two doors at one time. Then there are those that spend the money that may have reconfigured the door placement. This would be more of a modern thing.

Normally I wouldn’t stop for an old house like this, but something caught my eye and still does every time I look at this old house.

About The Image

The image was shot late afternoon as the storms were rolling in. I had some issues getting  the image to stay in focus and cloud exposure was painful. I was able to fix some of the issues in post. I used my Sony a6000 using my Sony SELP18105G E PZ 18-105mm F4 G OSS. I then edited the images with Adobe Lightroom CC and Topaz Labs Denoise AI and Topaz Labs Sharpen AI and DXO NIK Collection
