This week’s random image is of an old Abandoned A-Frame House in Jack County, Texas I found while exploring in the Jack County, Texas area back in July 2015. I visited this old house several times over the years and hate to see it in this shape.

Abandoned A-Frame House

Abandoned A-Frame House in Jack County, Texas

This old abandoned a-frame house is on a beautiful piece of land with a creek flowing past the edge of the property. The land is overgrown and all the houses in the development are gone and the land is returning to the wild. The house itself, is in rough shape, but with some investment the house could be saved. Since construction was never completed there isn’t much demo needed on the inside. Its mostly down to the studs on the inside and the roof and siding will need to be replaced. Otherwise this could be a neat little house on a nice piece of property. I would love to know what happened to the development and why it wasn’t built out.

A few years ago a reader reached out to me saying that her husband back in the 70s poured the cement for the house and her husband said the owner ran out of money or decided to stop building during mid build and the house was never completed.

I’m looking for more history of the house and the area around the house. The area looks like an abandoned neighborhood. All the other houses are gone but evidence shows old streets and driveway layouts where past houses were. If you know more, please comment below.

About the Image

The image was shot by hand late afternoon as the sun. I used a Sony A6000 with a a Sony SEL16F28 16mm f/2.8 Wide-Angle Lens. The images was then edited using Adobe Lightroom to crop, straighten and clean up the image. I used Google NIK Collection (Now DXO NIK Collection) and Topaz Labs Clarity to help add detail, add contrast, and sharpen/remove noise. As always my images are for sale with or without the watermark in digital and prints. Please contact me via the contact page for more information.
