The Old Gymnasium in Mingus, Texas

I came across the old gymnasium in Mingus, Texas from a lead from rural explorer friend. We couldn’t find much information on it but that it was or is or owned by the city and it sits abandoned (last I checked was in 2017). From what I can tell is that the roof is swiss cheese and the interior has a mixture of trash and parts of the old building sit as they fell or put in there for storage.

All entrances are locked down and the neighbors watch the place. One even asked what I was up to. When I told them, they told me they thought their was an school next to the gym but that was before their time. They didn’t care if I went inside if I could find access (I didn’t find any, just looked through the windows).

If you know anymore about this is gymnasium please let me know. I plan on adding its history to VanishingTexas.net.

About the Image

The image was shot by hand early in morning. I used a Sony A6000 with a  Sony SEL16F28 16mm f/2.8 Wide-Angle Lens. The image was then edited using  Adobe Lightroom CC and Topaz Labs Denoise AI and Topaz Labs Sharpen AI and DXO NIK Collection to clean up the image, remove noise, and recover the lost details.
