On one of my after work road trips I decided to explore east of HWY 56 from Sherman, Texas as far I could drive in two hours. I decided to stop every abandoned house/building (worth stopping at), small town downtown square, and abandoned vehicle.

Abandoned Farm House West of Ector, Texas

As I was heading towards Bonham, Texas I came across an abandoned farm house east of Ector, Texas. You really can’t see it because its just off a gravel road and the grass is so tall right front of the house that it almost reaches the porch roofline. At first I thought it was an old storage shed. But my gut told me to turn around and take a quick look.

The house has been abandoned for years but it its in surprising decent shape. I’ve seen modern houses still lived in almost the same condition.

When I was there last September, it still have all its windows and the entries were still boarded up. I could see signs that someone made repairs sometime after it was abandoned. But it was not recent.

If you know anything about this old house, its history, who owns it, or have old pictures you would like to share, please contact me.

About the Images

The images were shot by hand with my Sony NEX-3N and a Sony SEL16F28 16mm f/2.8 as the storms were about to pass through. I then edited them in Adobe Lightroom. I then post processed with Topaz Clarity to add texture, brighten the images, and bring out the details in the image. Then removed the dust spots and rain spots. I then used Topaz DeNoise to remove the noise from the image
