The Veto Road Bridge near Union Church, Mississippi is an old narrow bridge that crosses the Homochitto River on a dirt road. Its just wide enough for one vehicle to cross. The bridge was closed a few years a back and sitting next to the bridge is a small RV Camp.

According to Bridgehunter.com the bridge was built in 1903 and closed to traffic in 2013. The Veto Road Bridge is a through truss bridge that spans the Homochitto River. Its design is a 2 Camelback through truss spans. The bridge is 462.8 feet long and 14.9 feet wide with a deck clearance of 16.3 (deck to supports).

The bridge is in rough shape but the deck seems to be ok. I still wouldn’t drive a vehicle over it. It was deemed a safety hazard for a reason. From what I can tell, people are or have driving ATVs and dirt bikes over the bridge recently. Bridgehunter has the bridge listed as in poor condition and has the superstructure and substructure listed with a rating of 1 out of 9 for Imminent Failure.

The images  were shot on an early morning on a sunny day. I used my Sony a6000 and my Sony SELP18105G E PZ 18-105mm F4 G OSS lens. The images were then edited with Adobe Lightroom CC and Topaz Labs A.I. Clear  and DXO NIK Collection to clean up the images, remove noise, and recover the lost details.
