Every year in late July is the Sachse, Texas Cars Under the Stars Car Show that is sponsored by the Sachse City of Commerce and local vendors. Each year the show gets larger. Now the show is so big its no longer at the Krogers off HWY 78. Its now at Sachse, High School. Just a few minutes away.
Sachse, Texas Cars Under the Stars Car Show – Details
For me, this is the first year its over at the high school. I missed last year. So it may have been there the year before. Can someone confirm this?
For those interested in attending the car show, its normally the last weekend of July and starts around 5 PM and ends around 10 PM. I’ve never stayed past sunset. By that time the crowds start to thin out and some of the cars leave. At some point, I will stay later and see how the show turns out.
The 2018 Sachse, Texas Cars Under the Stars Car Show
This year, the 2018 Sachse, Texas Cars Under the Stars Car Show was a little different. The weather was acting up. A few hours before the show started the weather turned bad. Its started raining and the winds picked up. In my area, the rain lasted until around 4:30 PM. Once it stopped I headed out. Then about 20 minutes in to my drive south rain started and stayed heavy until about 10 minutes out from the high school. That area of Sachse didn’t even look like it got any rain that afternoon.
Because of the weather, the temperatures dropped and made it a comfortable low 90s instead of the 100+ degree weather we normally have this time of year.
Sadly the rain also caused some of the cars not to show up. But there were over a 10+ cars that showed up.
The cars that did show, many of them were the regulars and a few new ones. Hopefully there will be more next year.
I try and go every year. Since 2012 I have gone and only missed twice. There’s always a great turn out and since I have photographed many of the cars before, I only photograph my favorites and the new cars.
About the Images
The images were shot close to sunset with my Sony a6000 and the Sony 16-50mm f3.5-5.6 OSS Power Zoom Lens. I then used Adobe Lightroom, and Google Nik Collection to remove noise and clean up the images.
