Over the last few years, I’ve come to realize how important it is to drink a lot of water and stay hydrated throughout the day. A few years back I started carrying a 64oz stainless steel double-sided water bottle that I could fill with ice and keep my water cold all day. Early on, I realized that the bottle is bulky and heavy. I bumped it a few times and put a small dent on the bottom. Plus, it gets held carrying it around all day. I realized that a few water bottle brands started including water bottle holder shoulder bags. When I came across the WildWolf Outfftters 64oz Bottle Holder I just had to give it a try.
WildWolf Outfitters 64oz Bottle Holder – The Review
On first impression, this bag is made well. The stitching is strong, the handle and strap are sturdy, and the zippers are strong. The only thing that doesn’t work well is the string tightener at the top. It slips very easily. So depending on the type of bottle you have it could fit snuggly or it could fit loose as it does for me.
The Shoulder Strap and Handle
The strap is removable and comes with a little padding and a no-slip side. I found that if you put the strap in a crossbody setup it doesn’t slip. If you wear it over one shoulder and down your side, it may slide off over time.
The handle is a large rubber grip that can be removed when not in use or it can be left attached. The hand grip portion is rubber and thick. It’s designed to be held for long periods of time. But honestly, I haven’t been able to hold it for more than a few minutes before I put it over my shoulder. I mostly use it to pick it up or move it across the room.
Daily Uses
I use the bottle carrier every day. I use it when I’m at home and hanging out, doing yard/housework, on road trips (hang from a headrest and pour water into a smaller container, at the gym, on short hikes I need more than a few ounces of water, keep extra cold water in my car on my day hikes so I always have extra water on hand.
The bag works great for these uses. I’ve used the bottle holder on my old Nalgene bottles when I didn’t want to carry a backpack on short hikes. Because of the size of the bottle, it does get in the way and can be difficult to use during longer hikes unless you use a smaller bottle.

The bottle carrier isn’t just thin cloth but has a small amount of insulation. This gives the bottle a little more protection and keeps the bottles colder longer. It is not leakproof. If the bottle starts leaking then the bag will leak as well.
I’ve had this bag for a few years and love it enough that I may purchase another for my other size bottles that need them. WildWold Outfitters offers the bottle carrier in different bottle sizes. If you need a 640 bottle holder for your bottle then the WildWolf Outfitters 64oz Bottle Holder might work for you.
At the time I purchased mine it only came in black. Now it comes in different colors. But the black one was removed from the list. At some, I bet they will bring it back.
