UURIG Metal Phone Tripod Mount PH-12 Review

The mount has a professional feel to it. It’s all metal except for the plastic wheel at the bottom. This is used to tighten down the mount to the tripod. In my opinion, this is a weak point and should have been metal.

The clamp has rubber pads that protect the phone from scratches and slipping out of the clamp. The mount holds my old Samsung Galaxy Note 8 with a large case just fine.  I upgraded to a Google Pixel 7 Pro and it’s in a UAG Scout Case two and it fits a little snug. But works.  The clamp will only hold the phone in portrait/vertical position but the clamp can rotate to landscape/horizontal position easily.

I mostly use the mount when I’m doing long exposure, night shots, and zoomed-in shots that need a steady hand. I have also used the mount attached to the monopod to create a temporary selfie stick so I could get a high-angle shot.

Final Thoughts

After using the phone mount I have to say it I like it a lot. It works well for my needs. It easy to use and only takes seconds to pull and use. I’m tempted to get a couple more along with a couple more travel tripods so I can always have the option to use my phone mounted on a tripod.

The UURG Metal Phone Tripod Mount PH-12 is a great option for someone wanting a stronger phone mount than the cheap all-plastic mounts.
