I’m pretty particular when it comes to using a computer mouse. Even for basic everyday uses I prefer a high performance mouse. Growing up I used big and bulky wired mice to wireless high performance gaming mice. I hate wired mice and even wired gaming mice annoy me. Mainly its the wires. All I use is wireless mice when working from home. At work I use a shared computer so I can’t change out the mouse. If I had my own computer I would switch out to a wireless gaming mouse as well. A few months ago I decided to try out the new Logitech G604 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse and after using it for several months it’s now my main mouse. Today, I want to share my review and recommendations of this mouse.

Logitech G604 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse – The Review

Logitech G604 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse - My setup when gaming away from home or working at a cafe

Coming from Logitech Performance MX Gaming Mouse for gaming and using other high performance branded gaming mice over the years, I find the Logitech G604 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse to be a great upgrade option with a ton of features that makes office productivity and gaming easier.

What I like about the mouse is how sensitive it is during first person shooters and how easy it is to change the sensitivity when you don’t need it. I do find the game sensitivity is way to sensitive for playing classic games that don’t require high quality gaming mice. I normally turn the sensitivity down or use my old office mouse to play those games.

The only issue I have is the thumb function buttons are placed to low and my thumb bumps against them and over time my thumb gets sore. For long periods time I prefer my Logitech Performance MX Gaming Mouse. But that’s not a deal breaker. But over the last month or I’ve gotten use to the buttons and I rarely hit it.

Using the app software works but it takes time to get use to and I still haven’t had a lot of time to setup various gaming and desktop profiles. As many reviewers have said, the GHub software is garbage. Once you figure out the software, setting up features like being able to setup function buts to reload guns, pick up new weapons, and during strategy games hitting a button and it sends me back to my home base is a nice feature.

Battery Usage

This model isn’t rechargeable and takes a single AA battery and it should last almost 6 months. The software allows you track battery life. Plus there is an option to conserve battery life. With these features, I don’t think there’s an issue with it not being rechargeable. I’m still on the same set of batteries installed back in October. It has about the same amount of usage as my rechargeable mouse and another battery replacement gaming mouse.

As of writing this review, the app shows low battery. If I were about to play a game I would change the batteries out. But for now, I’m doing mostly image editing, writing articles, and surfing the net. That kind of work doesn’t use that much power.

Final thoughts

Logitech G604 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse

Overall, I think the Logitech G604 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse would make a great gaming mouse for almost anyone and if you are in need of good reliable gaming mouse, I highly recommend taking a look at this mouse. At first, I preferred my old Logitech Performance MX Gaming Mouse. But don’t get me wrong I was still impressed with it and could see its potential. What I liked about my other mouse was it was slightly larger and the buttons were placed in a way that I wouldn’t accidently hit a function button during game play. But after several months of playing first person shooter games and using the mouse daily for work related activities I found that I now prefer this mouse over my older Logitech mouse. I retired my older mouse to my older gaming laptop and use it mostly for classic game play and when working from that computer.
