I finally was able to get a polarizing filter for my old Sony 55-210mm telephoto lens. The lens isn’t used all that much but it’s in my kit and used for long distant photo opportunities. On sunny days or days where there is a lot of glare the lens isn’t ideal. To fix those issues the lens needs a polarized lens filter. When amazon listed the new K&F Concept 49mm UV CPL Lens Filter Kit (I was given this product for free in exchanged for a review) to review I had to get one to test out.

The Review

K&F Concept 49mm UV CPL Lens Filter Kit - Came with dust on the glass

On first impressions the K&F Concept 49mm UV CPL Lens Filter Kit is  a well built lens filter. But this is the first time I’ve gotten one that came out of the packaging with dust specs and small finger smudge. You can’t see the smudge unless you hold the filter up to a light source. As you can see from the pictures you can see the little dust spots on it. With a quick blow of a dust blower and a wipe down with a micro fiber cleaning cloth it was clean.

Sony E-Mount 55-210mm with filter

It’s a nice filter, just like the other models I have from them. I needed another polarizer for my Sony E-Mount 55-210mm lens and seeing that K&F Concepts released another filter set I decided to give them a try. I was curious to see if I can tell a difference between some of their other polarizers. After some testing, I really can’t tell a difference.

Old Chevy Truck Forgotten in A Field

I took some shots of my neighbor’s old Chevy pickup sitting at just the edge of my lens capabilities with the sun glaring down on the truck at the wrong angle. The filter did a good job and with some minor tweaking in the post edit, I was able to have a decent image.

I haven’t had a chance to go out and do some shooting with the K&F Concept 49mm UV CPL Lens Filter Kit but so far the at-home test has me impressed. The only issue I have is the lens filter ring is too thin. I can’t get a grip on it to remove the filter. All I can grab is the circular part. I have to buy another lens filter wrench to remove it. But this seems to be a trend with this brand.
