Anker 3.5mm Nylon Braided Auxiliary Audio Cable – The Review

Anker 3.5mm Nylon Braided Auxiliary Audio Cable

Let me start off by staying that I am rough on cables. When I was using wired headsets and AUX cables connected to my car stereo I would go through the cables any from 3 weeks to 6 months. Cheaper the cable the faster it broke. So I generally do not purchase cables and headsets that were more than $10.

Then back in 2016 I was introduced to the Anker USB cables and AUX cables. When my wife’s cheap gas station cable failed, I gave her an older Anker AUX cable that was rubber Sleeved. They are still selling those cables and sound pretty good. The best part is that cable is doing great and still sounds good. Check out my review.

After my Bluetooth adapter died in my car I purchased the updated version of the cable and that is called the Anker 3.5mm Nylon Braided Auxiliary Audio Cable.

This is another great cable, but currently you are only limited to purchasing in a 4 foot length in Red.

Their really isn’t much to go over for testing. I’ve been using this cable since February 2017 and use it daily. I use it to link my cell phone (Samsung Galaxy Note 8) to my car’s radio.

The sound quality is perfect. I do not get any kind of electronic hum during music operation. I do get little of that hum when I first plug in the phone. But that goes away with a simple twist of the cable jack. Once you find the sweet spot that hum goes away. Even if it didn’t you won’t hear it when the music is playing.

Even after to two years of heavy use, the cable is strong and flexible. The jacks on both ends are in great shape and still look good. Judging by the quality of this cable I still have years of use.

Final Thoughts

I have been impressed with the Anker 3.5mm Nylon Braided Auxiliary Audio Cable. It’s a great upgrade from the junk cables you get at the gas station.

What I don’t like about the cable is the outer sleeve material. Although its braided nylon and its very strong and durable, it gets dirty quickly. Even if your hands are clean, it attracts dirt. Mine are only dirty around the ports where I handle them. I have heard people cleaning the cables. If you really want to clean your cables I recommend contacting Anker support on how to clean them.

These cables are a premium cable at a far cheaper cost than buying a premium name brand cable. The cables  along with many other great products are available on Amazon from Anker Direct. Check Amazon for current prices. So if you are in the market for a new AUX cable I highly recommend Anker Aux Cables.
