This week’s random image of the week is of the old Sunshine Laundry & Dry Cleaning in San Antonio, Texas.
The Old Sunshine Laundry & Dry Cleaning in San Antonio, Texas
The Old Sunshine Laundry & Dry Cleaning in San Antonio, Texas is off of Flores St and is just a shell of its former self. All that’s left is the store front. The rest of the building was demolished at least a year ago. But it looks like someone has gone through the trouble by adding bracing poles to the back side of the building to keep it from falling over. Generally this is done when someone or the city wants a vintage store front saved to be used for the next building.
I can’t find any information on the old business. All I know it that it was abandoned prior to 2003. I found a picture of the building from 2003 and it shows the full building but abandoned and boarded up.
If anyone has information about this old business please contact me. I plan on sharing more images of the old store front in the future and plan to write up a short history of it.
About the Image
The image was shot by hand on a bright sunny day with bright light back lighting the building front. I used my Sony a6000 and a Sony SEL16F28 16mm f/2.8 lens for this shot. I then edited the image in Adobe Lightroom CC. I used Topaz Labs A.I. Clear and DXO NIK Collection to clean up the image, remove noise, and recover the lost details.
My great grandfather George Marion Fox was vice-president and General Manager
