It’s been another crazy month and I didn’t get the chance to write as many articles as I had planned. My work scheduled was changed when the building I’m at had to shut down to replace the roof. To keep us working they put us at other locations and different schedules. I also started spending more of my free time in the gym. Finally, I decided it was time to revisit some of my older images and fix them up. So, between those outings and working on all my images there hasn’t been much time for writing articles. So today, I decided to bring back the Random Picture of the Week Series with another picture of the Christ Episcopal Church in Church Hill, Mississippi shot from the cemetery looking back at the old church. It’s very similar to the previous image I shared back in October. But if you compare the two, they are different.
Christ Episcopal Church in Church Hill, Mississippi – Church and Cemetery
In early May 2021 I made a quick trip out to Mississippi to pick up my new truck. During that trip I had planned to do a little exploring in areas of Mississippi I can’t take my Subaru or My little SUV. But the weather was so bad that most of those back roads were too muddy or washed out to drive my 4-wheel drive truck on. So, I went to a few other places including the Christ Episcopal Church in Church Hill and took a few retake pictures of the exterior.
One of the shots I wanted to take was several different views of the cemetery looking back out at the church. This shot is one of my favorites.
A Brief History of the Church
“Christ Church, in Church Hill, Mississippi is a Mission Station of the Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi, and a Partner-in-Mission to Trinity Church, Natchez. Christ Church was the first Episcopal congregation founded in the State of Mississippi, in 1820, and the current church building, built in 1857, is a national landmark.” – Christ Episcopal Church
