This week’s random picture is of a set of chains and a padlock I found on a drive way gate blocking the way to a beautiful but decaying two story barn.

About the Chains and a Padlock
A few years ago I purchased a 30mm prime lens from Amazon. To test out that lens I took a mini road trip down HWY-380 from Farmersville, Texas to Greenville, Texas.
During that trip, I came across an abandoned barn that had several entrances that were opened or the gates were half rotten except for one gate that was still on lock down. O how I love locks and chains! I couldn’t resist.
Although I never left the side of the road I did shoot some landscape and macro shots of the area.
About the Image
This image was taken just past noon on a sunny afternoon with my Sony Nex-3N with a Sigma 30mm f2.8 DN E Mount Lens, then I processed it with Adobe Lightroom to crop, straightened, and remove dust spots from the image. Then I post processed the image with Topaz Labs Clarity to add more texture, remove shadows, boost brightness, contrast, then desaturation the image.
