This week’s random image is of an abandoned store in Marysville, Texas. This store sits across street from the abandoned general store that I posted about on my last random image.
Abandoned Store in Marysville, Texas
As I mentioned in my last random image article, Marysville, Texas is pretty much a ghost town with only a handful of residents and a church or two left in the area. When I first came into town I noticed several abandoned buildings and a house before I got to the active church.
One of the buildings looks like an old general store with its wooden front and double wood doors. Its all boarded up and I couldn’t get close enough to see more. Until I know more about it, I am calling it the Abandoned General store in Marysville, Texas.
The other building looks like some sort of store. The doors are wide open and I was able to peak through the door and I could see all the walls had built in display shelves and building still had the original wood floors.
The building is in rough shape and won’t be around much longer.
If anyone knows more, I would love to add its history and document it over at VanishingTexas.net. Please contact me or share your thoughts in the comments below.
About the Image
The Marysville Baptist Church in Marysville, Texas was shot on a bright sunny day in August using my Sony a6000 Camera and with a Sony SEL16F28 16mm f/2.8 lens. I then edited the image with Adobe Lightroom CC and Topaz Labs A.I. Clear and DXO NIK Collection to clean up the image, remove noise, and recover the lost details.
