This week’s random image is of the De Zwaan Windmill in Holland, Michigan. I took this shot during our 2024 family vacation to Michigan. This shot was taken with an oversized wooden clog with the windmill in the background.
De Zwaan Windmill in Holland, Michigan
I won’t go into detail I have a ton of pictures and videos taken from my GoPro 12 Hero that I plan to share along with the history of the windmill. However, the windmill was originally built in 1761 in the Netherlands and was brought over to Holland Michigan in 1964 for the park. It is currently still in use to grind wheat into flower.
The windmill can be found at the Windmill Island Gardens. The park is a fun place to visit for the whole family. The gardens are beautiful, and I’ve heard during tulip season this is the place to be.
About the Image
The image was shot on a gloomy rainy day using my Google Pixel 7 Pro. The image was edited on my iPad 10th Gen. I then used Luminar for iPad and Adobe Lightroom Mobile to clean up the image.
