This week’s random image is a shot of Bug Tussle General Store at Night during the Perseids Meteor Shower. Unfortunately, it was a bust.
Bug Tussle General Store at Night
I went out to Bug Tussle, Texas to shoot the old general store during the peak time for my area. For whatever reason, I saw nothing. Spent several hours doing some long exposure test shots with my cellphone and camera.
Learn more about Bug Tussle and see images of the old store outside/inside, check out my article on Bug Tussle over at VanishingTexas.net
I will be sharing more images from that evening’s shoot. Images were taken with my camera and more shots with my phone.
About the Image
This shot was taken with my New Google Pixel 7 Pro in Astrophotography mode and was exposed for 4 minutes. I light up the area with an old COAST headlamp. To keep everything stable I used my trusty Small Rig Lightweight Travel Tripod. I then edited in Adobe Lightroom CC, Topaz Labs Denoise AI, Topaz Labs Sharpen AI, and Aurora HDR (no longer available but still a great product) to clean up the image. You can create the same effects from Aurora HDR with Luminiar Neo (partner discount codes: JJOHNSTPHOTOG10 – 10% off or JJOHNSTPHOTOG – $10 off) and edit your images.
