This week’s random image is of the Paris Texas Eiffel Tower at Night. I took this shot with my cellphone attached to my travel tripod at about midnight on Saturday, July 22, 2023, with clear skies.

The Paris Texas Eiffel Tower at Night

Random Image of the Week #219: The Paris Texas Eiffel Tower at Night

The tower was built in 1993 and is a small-scale replica of the original tower. The one in Paris is 65 feet tall including the red Stetson hat on top.

I’ve been to the Paris Texas Eiffel Tower a few times during the day and even near sunset. Each time it’s I have to deal with people in the shots. I haven’t found a time during the day when the tower is quiet.

My visit

During my visit, only one person came up. I was still setting up my gear and by the time I was set up, they were gone. The light does change according to the season and will occasionally change to look like the Texas flag. During my visit, it stayed this yellow color for all about 5 minutes. I was already in the middle of a long exposure shot and by the time that was finished and I was setting up for the new shot it switched back.

About the Image

I planned to shoot the Paris Texas Eiffel Tower with my camera (it didn’t work as planned) and then test out my New Google Pixel 7 Pro in Astrophotography mode. This shot was taken with the phone and post-edited in Adobe Lightroom CC, Topaz Labs Denoise AI, and Topaz Labs Sharpen AI, and  Aurora HDR (no longer available but still a great product) to clean up the image. You can create the same effects from Aurora HDR with Luminiar Neo (partner discount codes: JJOHNSTPHOTOG10 – 10% off or JJOHNSTPHOTOG – $10 off) and edit your images.
