During the first week of July 2019 my wife and I spent a week in Kelowna visiting her family. We spent a lot of our time out hiking some of their favorite trails. Today I want to share one of those trips. I call it hiking Mill Creek Reginal Park, Kelowna, B.C.

Mill Creek Reginal Park is a 15.3 hectare green space near the Kelowna Airport. The trail system follows Mill Creek to the falls and then into the woods a ways. The park backs up to a neighborhood. But once you get to the trail head you can’t see or hear much noise from the road or neighborhood.

The trail itself is nice solid natural surface (the parking area to the trailhead is gravel) that consists of local soils mixed with crushed rock/decompose granite. We made the hike a couple of hours after it rained and the trail was muddy, but only in few places. The trail drains and dries out quickly from what I can tell. I found the trail to be a quiet easy trail to walk. The trail is mostly flat with a rise in elevation of around 200 feet (according to AllTrails.Com). I did find several spots that had exposed roots and rocks. So keep an eye out for those spots in the trail.
We were not able to complete the trail. My wife’s parents said that just past the second set of falls (the smaller set of falls) the trail was washed out and some trees were down across the trail. There was maybe about a half of mile of trail left.
I was looking at trail maps and this trail may unofficially go farther out into the woods. I’m really not sure how far the trail goes. If any knows more about this trail please comment below. During our next visit I play to explore this trail and see how far it really goes.
If you are looking for an easy trail full of nature, place to do a little trail running, or take a dip in the creek, this is the place to visit. Its a very easy trail and should take you less than hour to complete.
About the Images
I shot the images with my Sony a6000 using my Sony SELP18105G E PZ 18-105mm F4 G OSS by hand. The images were shot on gloomy day in the woods. The images were then edited with Adobe Lightroom CC and Topaz Labs A.I. Clear and DXO NIK Collection to clean up the images, remove noise, and recover the lost details.
Very pretty thanks
