Day 4 of the 5 Day Black and White Photo Challenge: Pinstriping at the Invasion Car Show 2013
For the last three years my wife and I have been to the Invasion Car Show in Deep Ellum, Dallas, Texas and I hope to go every year. I have over a 1000 unedited images that I need to process, but I just can’t get to them.
I always keep my eyes open for something different at the shows. The 2013 show was a special one for me. As always, I have a lot fun shooting the cars, pine-up girls, and musicians, and the locals. As a bonus I came across a pinstriper working is trade on the cars.
So I took a couple of shots of him working. Out of all of the shots and vehicles he worked on this old VW Bug and the way the painter is concentrating on his work is my favorite shot.
About the Image
I took close to 30 pictures of the pinstriper at work. Most of the images were deleted on site. But after about 20 minutes hanging out and watching him work, I finally got some great looking images.
I shot from the shadows while the pinstriper worked hard in the sun. I used my Sony Nex-3N and a Sony SELP1650 16-50mm Power . I then edited the image in Adobe Lightroom and post processed with Topaz Clarity to bring in more texture, detail, and play with the lighting. I then converted the color results to black and white using Topaz B&W.
