While driving out to Fort Davis, Mississippi to check out a semi abandoned church I came across the Bethany Presbyterian Church in Centreville, Mississippi. The little church sits just off the main road next to a neighboring house.
Bethany Presbyterian Church in Centreville, Mississippi – History
The Bethany Presbyterian Church in Centreville, Mississippi was organized in 1808 with a centennial celebration in October 1908. The first minutes of record date back to 1818. Bethany Presbyterian Church is the fourth Presbyterian church to be organized in the area and is called the Mother of Churches.”
The first building was made from logs and was about 4 miles from its current church’s location. Their is no information as to why they moved the building or what happened to the second building. The third and current building was built in 1855 and sits about 6 miles of Centreville, Mississippi in Ariel, Mississippi
The way the historical marker reads it sounds like the second building was lost to fire and the current building was built to replace the lost one.

Images were shot early afternoon on a sunny day. I used Sony a6000 using my Sony SELP18105G E PZ 18-105mm F4 G OSS with my new K&F Concept SA254T1 Camera Tripod. The images were then edited with Adobe Lightroom CC and Topaz Labs A.I. Clear and DXO NIK Collection to clean up the images, remove noise, and recover the lost details.
