Back in July 2022 my wife, myself, and some of our longtime friends rented out a couple of cabins on the rim of Palo Duro Canyon where we spent a few days exploring the canyon and surrounding area. I will go into our trip once I’ve processed all the images. Today I wanted to share a few pictures I took mid-morning from one of the scenic spots.
A View from the Rim – Palo Duro Canyon
Our trip was a short one. We only had two days of exploring and that was cut down to about 4 hours of hiking due to the extreme heat found at the bottom of the canyon. During our visit, we had a dry heat of about 100 degrees by 12:00 pm and close to 110 at the bottom of the canyon.
During one of our stops, I decided to take some from a scenic viewing spot at the rim of the canyon. Even up here it was hot. The sun was glaring and difficult to get a good shot with my camera. My lens hood and polarized lens didn’t do much.
About the Images
The pictures were taken under direct harsh sunlight. I used my Sony a6000 and my Sony SELP18105G E PZ 18-105mm F4 G OSS lens. The image was then edited with Adobe Lightroom CC, Topaz Labs Denoise AI and Topaz Labs Sharpen AI, Aurora HDR, and Luminar AI to clean up the image.
