A few years back I was driving around exploring the area and happened to be driving as sunset was starting and decided to see if I could find something to shoot. Just about the time the sunset was over, I found a  ranch with cattle near the fence settling down for the night and a windmill at sunset near Trenton, Texas.

Livestock in the dying light of the sunset.

The pictures were originally shot with a prime lens and were too noisy to be shared. But using new editing skills I’ve used over the years and AI software to remove the noise and sharpen the image.

The images aren’t perfect but they look a lot better than my first attempts at editing the images.

Today, the windmill is gone. But the ranch is still in operation.

About the Images

I used my Sony a6000 and a Long with a prime lens(I can’t remember which one) along with a tripod to capture the shots. It was post-edited in Adobe Lightroom CC, Topaz Labs Denoise AI, Topaz Labs Sharpen AI, and  Aurora HDR (no longer available but still a great product) to clean up the images and bring out the colors. You can create the same effects from Aurora HDR with Luminiar Neo (partner discount codes: JJOHNSTPHOTOG10 – 10% off or JJOHNSTPHOTOG – $10 off) and edit your images.
