When I was younger, I hated writing. But during college, I didn’t hate it so much, I realized that I didn’t hate writing, I just hated the topics I had to write about. The stuff we had to write about in high school were on forced topics and everything was based on a writing style for state education tests. Then when I got to college, we still had a writing structure and forced topics to write about, but at least they or topics that liked or I could relate to.
After college I didn’t have to write to much, mostly I wrote training manuals for clients and follow employees. At that point, I realized that I truly liked writing about tech. Once I figured that out, I really wasn’t sure what to do about it. Since I was working full time and going to school, I didn’t think much about it. Then about three years ago I started a blog about organic gardening. It didn’t go to well. I realized at that point, that gardening is a great hobby, but you have to LOVE what you write about. I enjoy gardening, but I don’t enjoy it enough to write about it daily. So after eight months, I called it quits with hopes of starting it back in the near future. What I didn’t realize was that I was hooked and I couldn’t stay away from writing and blogging. At that point I knew I was ready to start another blog, but I wasn’t sure what I should write about.
So I spent the next few months reading as many “how to blog sites, copyrighting sites, and few other blogs that I liked to visit. Trying to figure what I wanted to write about. During that time of research, I found that blogging should be about what you love and what you are good at. If you do anything else, your blog won’t be as successful. With that realization, I realized that I love New Media and love tech. Once I figured that out, I knew it had to be new media related. IT and tech are still a favorite of mine, I eventually plan on starting a website or maybe writing for a tech blog, but for now, I know more about new media and there was so much on that topic that I could write about the choice was made.
So after little over three years of writing articles, I not only write articles for Evolutionary Designs, but I also like to guest write for several articles, and I am always looking for other opportunities to write as well. At some point, I will take some courses in writing.
Where I Write
I will be the first to admit that I am not a professional writer and my editing skills are not that great when it comes to editing my work. But, I do my best to catch grammar and misspelled words whenever possible. I write because I like to and whenever I can, I like to guest write as well.
I mostly write for Evolutionary Designs, but I do guest write from time-to-time and I am a staff writer for Famous Bloggers. Here is a list of sites I currently have written for.
- Evolutionary Designs
