About a year ago, Amazon sent me the Soundcore Sleep A20 Earbuds to test out. I was excited to try these out at the time. For the last few years, I’ve been having sleep issues and been using tools such as my Garmin Venue 2 Plus via the Connect App and my RingConn Gen 2 Ring (RingConn.Com). But after a few months, I realized I wasn’t impressed with it. Below are my thoughts and experiences with the earbuds.
Soundcore Sleep A20 – Features
- A Full Night’s Peaceful Sleep: Our exclusive 4-point noise masking system and twin-seal ear tips with 3× stronger passive noise blocking mask snoring, pet sounds, and ambient noise. Note: Sleep A20 does not feature active noise cancelling.
- Ultra-Comfort for Side Sleepers: Utilizing ultra-soft materials, Soundcore’s Air Wing, and a 3D ergonomic design, Sleep A20 earbuds ensure pressure less comfort all night long, even for side sleeping.
- Drift Off Faster with AI Brainwave Audio: The soundcore app’s binaural beats induce brainwaves that promote relaxation, helping you fall asleep quicker. Audio is continuous and loop-free to keep your rest undisturbed.
- Week-Long Use: Up to 14 hours per charge, with 80 hours from the case, lasting a full week in Sleep mode. In Bluetooth mode, enjoy 10 hours of playtime, extendable to 55 hours with the case.
- Sleep Analytics for Better Sleep: Built with MEMS sensors, these earbuds track your sleep status and provide detailed visual reports in the app, helping you understand and improve your sleep quality.
The Review – Soundcore Sleep A20 Earbuds
Since their release, I’ve seen multiple influencers and reviews give these earbuds impressive reviews and claims. Generally speaking, I’m not 100% convinced when an influencer recommends products. I found that a few of them only use them for a short amount of time and may not truly give an item a try or may be less than truthful about their experience. This can hurt other influencers. So, when I find an item on social media, I try and find multiple reviews. For me, I spent a lot of time reading reviews and experiences with the Soundcore Sleep A20 to the point I was planning to purchase a pair to test out. The reviews were mixed but heavily weighted in the positive at the time I decided I wanted a pair. Then Amazon sent me a pair to test!
First Impressions
As with all Soundcore products, they come nicely packaged and are easy to open. Once opened, I found the case was a nice slide-open case with earbuds that easily drop into the case. Once you find the sweet spot, the magnets grab the earbuds and put them in the right place to charge.
Charging Times and Usage
I found the earbuds and case to be mostly charged. So, I charged it to 100% and ran some tests. I found that I could get about 14 hours. But you still need to charge them every night to get a full charge. 80 hours seems about right. Sunday morning, I would throw it on the charger and have it ready to use for the week.
The Fit
It comes with plenty of ear pads. Find one that fits you right and is comfortable. You will be wearing them all night. If the fit is wrong, it will keep you up, it won’t record your sleep cycles correctly, and they may fall out. Most nights could keep them in.
Usage
I’m disappointed. They didn’t work that well for me. Most nights, it didn’t record my sleep or say I wasn’t sleeping when my other devices did. They were more reliable. When it did work, it worked great.
The last time I used it, I set it up so that for the first 30 minutes it would play Spotify or my audiobooks. The downside is that the minimum time was 30 minutes before it switched to white noise. I either had to stay up till it switched over, or it changed it to white noise.
Audio Quality
Audio quality isn’t good. It’s flat and boring. Then again, you should be relaxing and not getting pumped up. Good music and quality audio generally keep me up. So that could be the reason. So don’t let that stop you from buying their audio devices.
Final Thoughts
I’m not going to share my results. They are private, and there are plenty of reviews sharing their results and pictures of the app. So, take a look at those. I’m not a fan of these. This is my experience with these. You may have better results. If interested, try the Soundcore Sleep A20 Earbuds. If they do not work for you, return them (make sure you get them somewhere that will let you return them) or reach out to support and see if Soundcore can help.
