Over the last few years True Wireless Earbuds (TWS) have advanced in a lot of ways. When they first came only a few brands featured them and to be honest, I wasn’t impressed. Many of those on the market had poor connectivity, poor battery life, and the sound quality wasn’t there yet. Today they’ve advanced so far you can get apps to control almost everything about them. The Soundcore Life A2 NC is a great example of what can be packed into a small set of TWS earbuds. It comes with large drivers that produce high quality sound, long battery life, and its control by the Soundcore app. To learn more, continue reading to see the features and my hands on review of the earbuds.

The Hands On Review

Soundcore Life A2 NC

I used the Soundcore Life A2 NC for a few a few weeks and have to say they sound good . I’ve own 3 other Soundcore TWS earbuds and 2 other TWS brands over the last few years and these by far blow my older units out of the water for sound quality and noise cancelation.

The sound quality is clear and sounds good across all the ranges. If you don’t like the sound quality or you want to tweak it, you can change it via the Soundcore app.

The app does a lot of things including turning on/off noise cancelation, keeping accurate tabs on each earbud’s charge status.

I don’t like the fit, even after changing out the wings and earpads. I have to use the largest wings to get a secure fit. But the Soundcore designers didn’t take the larger wings into their design of the charging case. The case doesn’t close all the way and earbuds don’t always seat properly. I noticed that my right earbud wasn’t charging fully or wasn’t charging at all. I pulled the wings off and they charged normally! So now I have to take the wings off to store the buds. Unfortunately, I can’t get a good fit without the large wings. Even with the larger ear pads they fall out when I lean over.

I also had some connectivity issues connecting to my Samsung Galaxy Note 8.  Several times I had to use the reset button on the bottom of the case to reset the earbuds to get them to connect to my phone and sync up properly. My wife had no issues connecting with iPhone 12.

I let my wife test them out for a week and she loves them and wants a pair of her own. With the right size pads and wings they fit her ears and charge the ear pads just fine. They work great with her iPhone 12

We also found the mics to work great in the house and outside in noisy conditions.

We found the charge and play times that Soundcore claims these earbuds to have are close to those claims if you listen at 80% volume.

Final Thoughts

Since I can’t keep them in my ears without the larger wings and I don’t want to deal with having to take the wings off each time I have to charge them, my wife is the proud owner of a pair of premium Soundcore Premium TWS Earbuds. After 8 months of use, the Soundcore Life A2 NC are still my wife’s favorite earbuds. She mostly uses them at work since she has almost total control of the settings and can change them when the work environment requires a change.

If you don’t have to use the larger ear wings or don’t mind removing the wings each time you charge the earbuds,  then the Soundcore Life A2 NC could be a great option for you.
