AUKEY USB-C to USB-C 6ft Cable – The Review

Aukey USB-C to USB-C 6ft Cable

The  Aukey USB-C to USB-C 6ft Cable comes in very simple bag packaging. All that comes with it is a product card and a Aukey Key Sticker. To keep the cable from getting tangled up, Aukey uses a small hook & loop strap wrapped around the cable.

On first inspection they have the same feel as Aukey’s Braided USB-C to UBS- C cable. But unlike that cable, this one is completely black and has a rubber outer shell. This cable is still thicker than my OEM cables. These also have a reinforced boot for the USB-C connector. This should help keep the cables last longer and take more bends and twists than your average cable.

Charge Test

Real life cable testing is a quick process. I did several tests using my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 for the USB-C device and used an Anker PowerPort Atom PD 1 30 watt wall charger and a Aukey USB-C 18 watt wall charger for testing.

Aukey USB-C to USB-C 6ft Cable

Over the last week I’ve been alternating between chargers and different cables to see if I get different charge speeds. I found these cables to charge just as fast as more expensive cables, an Aukey  braided cable, and a lot faster than standard USB-A to USB-C cables. I found that instead of taking two hours to charge my phone from 20-30% to 100% it took about an hour and half to charge. These findings are the same as the Aukey USB-C to USB-C Braided Cable, and an Anker USB-C to USB-C Cable.

Final Thoughts

Aukey USB-C to USB-C 6ft Cable

I highly recommend the Aukey USB-C to USB-C 6ft Cable. These cables cost about as much as a generic cable you might find by the cash register at a store. But this cable different than your average cheap cable. Aukey has designed a budget friendly cable with the quality of a premium cable.  If you have the time to wait for an Amazon order, I recommend getting one of these cables next time you need to replace your cables or if you are looking to move to power delivery charging. Before you purchase your cables, make sure to get yourself a power delivery charger to take advantage of quick charging.

This review will be updated if over the next year these cables have an issue or fail completely. If you don’t see an update then the cable is still going strong

These cables come in both braided and non-braided. You can even get a multi  pack of Aukey USB-C to USB-C Cables for the price of a premium cable.. Check out these options from Aukey.
