Aukey Touch Control LED Lamp – LT-T7 – The Review
Last week Aukey sent me a sample of the Aukey Touch Control LED Lamp – LT-T7 in exchange for a non-bias review. Below are my thoughts on the lamp.
The lamps comes in a brown cardboard box with a diagram and the name in ink on the box. On the inside you find the lamp securely inside the box along with instructions, sticker, and power cord.
First Impressions
The lamp is a solid unit that can’t be opened easily. The power cord connects under the base of the lamp. The base has a small cutout in on backside edge that the cord runs through to reach the hidden power port.
Top of the lamp is plastic chrome (came with a small scratch on it) that comes without a plastic protected film. The chrome top is also where the touch controls are. Because the surface is plastic and chrome it can scratch easy and show smudges.
The lamp looks and feels like a premium table top lamp. The power supply is white and blends well with white walls and hide nicely behind the lamp and the base.
Operation
To turn on the Aukey Touch Control LED Lamp – LT-T7 simply touch the top chrome piece with your finger and quickly remove it. The lamp will remember your last setting. To change the brightness hold your finder down. You will see the lamp brighten or dim. Once it goes to its brightest/dimmest setting take your finger off. To change brightness again put your finger back on the top and hold it until you like the setting, To turn off the light touch the quickly again for a second.
Testing
The lamp quickly turns on and off quickly each time I touch it. Holding my finger on the top of the lamp reliably control the dimming option for the lamp. I found that as long the lamp is plugged into the wall outlet it will remember the last setting you set up. If you unplug it or there’s a power outage you will loose your last setting.
The lamp has a the prefect soft white output that’s perfect to help keep your eyes relaxed. In its lowest setting it makes enough light to light up the corner of a dark room and still keep the rest of room dark. At its brightest setting its bright but not bright enough to light up room. Its a great accident light or help brighten your desk if you like to work in the dark.
Final Thoughts
This is a great light and looks nice in our house. For the pictures, I setup the camera on a small side table/cabinet in the kitchen. But I eventually moved the lamp to the bed room to replace the oversized bedside table lamp from side of the bed. I found this camera to be the perfect size for a bedside table lamp and still have room to hold a cup of water, alarm clock or a wireless charger, my phone and a tablet.
The Aukey Touch Control LED Lamp – LT-T7 is relaxing to our eyes and at its dimmest setting the light is still a little bright but for night light. But we just block the light with a pillow in front of the lamp.
At its brightest it makes a great accent light during the day or to avoid using the lamp instead of the ceiling lighting.
As to issues, there really aren’t any. I would have preferred to have the lamp a little dimmer and the memory settings were really saved and not draw power from the outlet when the lamp is off. Because of this issue, using a smart plug works but only at full power.
