Back in March 2020 I was visiting family. It was a last-minute trip and I forgot my charger and USB-C cables. Normally, I carry a handful of them but I left so fast that I left all of them. All I had was my car’s wireless charger. To keep my phone charged at my parent’s place and in other vehicles while away I ran out to the local Walmart and picked up the Anker Powerline Select+ USB-C Cable.

Anker Powerline Select+ USB-C Cable  – The Review

Anker Powerline Select+ USB-C Cable

As with all of Anker’s products, it comes in a nice package, and since this is a retail product the package was designed and displayed for retail customers. After opening the package up and pulling everything out, I found that it comes in a nice soft case. The cable is braided just like many of Anker’s cables. It’s thin and easy to twist and move around like any other cable. The heat shrink sleeving is different from other Anker Powerline Cables. The select cable uses a more traditional style sleeving that you find on many cables. But the select cables add notching to the sleeving. This makes it easy for the cables to bend and takes stress off the connectors.

I’m impressed with the Select+ line of cables. They work and they hold to the stress I put cables through. I tested the cables charging my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 with a car charger, wall charger, and powerbanks. Each charging device I tried with the cable charged my devices quickly with no issues.

When I got back home I tried my premium cables from Anker and several premium competitor cables against the Anker Powerline Select+ and my real-life results were similar.

I’ve stopped using the cable but that’s only because it was placed in my travel gear bag and only used when I travel or go on photography trips where I need the extra USB-C cable to charge batteries.

Please Note: Experiences with these cables may differ from person to person and the devices they charge. There are a lot of factors that go into how fast a device charges and the number apps you have running could speed or slow down charge times.

Final Thoughts

Anker Powerline Select+ USB-C Cable

The Anker Powerline Select+ USB-C Cable is a good cable. It’s not my favorite design but it works and I would buy it again if I was out of town and needed a USB-C Cable. I trust Anker and have been happy with all of the USB cables they’ve released over the years. I still use some of their older 2nd generation Micro-USB cables and had them for more than three years now, If you are in need of cable and have access to a Walmart, the Anker Powerline Select+ USB-C Cable is a good option.
