I originally picked up the cooling case dual fan to cool my Apple TV and Roku device. Both run hot and never turn off. Lately, I’ve noticed that the Apple TV and Roku were getting so hot it almost burned my hands. When the ANEXT Cooling Case Dual 120mm Fan became available from Amazon to review I had to get my hands on it.

The Review

On first impressions, the dual fan cooler looks to be made well. It’s all plastic and the fans seem to be made well. The fans can not be split up. If you need to split them up get one of the other options ANEXT. The fans have been running 24/7 for several months and haven’t had any issues.

Dual Fan Cooler

The USB cable does not have a built-in on/off switch. You will need to provide the USB power block. It doesn’t need much power so a basic low-power one or a multiport-powered USB port will work. I have mine plugged into the 2.0 USB porter on my router.

The setup is easy. It can be used to pull or push air. One fan is large enough to sit directly on one fan and my Roku gets the other one. Both fans kept the devices cool to the touch. Eventually, I set it up to keep my router cool. It’s an older DLink router that fits perfectly on the dual router. The Router is now sitting cool and only gets warm when there’s a lot of activity passing through the router.

What I Like…

USB Dual Fan Cooler

I like that it has rubber feet. These bumpers not only protect the surfaces that the fans are sitting on, but they work as antivibration pads as well. The router sits directly on the fan. I wish there was some sort of rubber riser like other USB fan coolers

The cooler does a great job at pushing air over devices or pulling air away from low-air current areas in your tech setup.

What I Don’t Like…

What I don’t like is that there really isn’t much fan blade protection. What it does have is flimsy. Too much weight and it gets pressed in.

I also don’t that it doesn’t have a fan controller or at least an on/off switch.

It’s also loud and with it running all the time, there’s a lot of white noise that can be heard when the TV is off.

Final Thoughts

The ANEXT Cooling Case Dual 120mm Fan works great and is made well. I eventually bought a smaller 120mm fan for my Apple TV and discontinued my Roku since I no longer need it. I now use this double fan cooler to cool my router. It sits perfectly under the router and plugs into the USB port in the back of my router. It keeps the router cool to the touch and helps pushes air over and around the router.
