Review: Alfawise RST2056 Sonic Electric Toothbrush – White EU Plug

Alfawise RST2056 Sonic Electric Toothbrush – White EU Plug

A few weeks ago GearBest sent me the Alfawise RST2056 Sonic Electric Toothbrush – White EU Plug to review. I’ve actually had the device a little over a month but was unable to use it because there was a miscommunication and I was sent the EU version (Can’t find a US version). To get the electric toothbrush up and running GearBest sent me an EU to US power adapter that works perfectly with the toothbrush. If you need an EU to US power adapter take at my review of that adapter.

The electric toothbrush came in a white cardboard box with pictures and specs of the toothbrush. Unboxing was easy and the unboxed presentation of the product was done well and displays the main unit in a positive way. Everything was secured and tied down.

On first impression I found the Alfawise RST2056 Sonic Electric Toothbrush – White EU Plug looks to made well and fits perfectly in my hands. The on/off button, the mode selection button are easy to reach with my thumb. Once I was satisfied everything looked good I washed and disinfect the brushes.

Next I looked over the brush heads and they looked like what you might find on other electric sonic toothbrushes. I noticed several of the brushes had some bent bristles but not enough to hurt the cleaning process.

The charging base is similar to other electric toothbrushes and the base is large enough that the toothbrush is stable and won’t fall over. The power cord is long and should be able to place almost anywhere on your counter top near the sink.

I found the device almost fully charged and I pulled it out and left it charging for a few hours. The instructions say to leave it on the charger for 24 hours so it will fully charge. I found it to be fully charged in a few hours.

Operational Tests

I have sensitivity to vibrations and certain noises. Because of those issues I’ve never been able to take advantage of our dentist recommend brand electric sonic toothbrush. Its limited on settings and for me its to loud, and the vibrations hurt my teeth, gums and head. I normally get a headache after I finish up.

So for these tests I will test vibration levels and how I do with it. Then have my wife whose been using her dentist recommend electric sonic toothbrush for years and loves it  to test its functionality on the various settings.

For operational tests my wife and I tested each setting and we found all them work. There really isn’t a way for me test and see if the brush hits vibration counts per minute. So I will share our thoughts on each setting.

1. Clean – 31,000 vibrations per minute. I ran this setting and found it feel similar to the dentist recommend brands electric sonic toothbrush. My wife agrees and uses this feature most of the time. She says it works great and continues to use this setting even after the testing period. She hasn’t gone back to her old electric toothbrush.

2. Soften – Gentle ideal for sensitive teeth. I found this setting to be perfect for me. Only a small amount of discomfort when brushing my upper teeth. I found it to clean well and noticed a more clean feeling verses my manual brush. My wife didn’t really like this setting. For her it didn’t clean as well as the other settings.

3.  Whiten – 40,000 VMP for Bright smile. I did not like this setting it was to loud and the vibrations were rough in my option. I thought it was worse than our old electric toothbrush. My wife said it works great but she doesn’t us it daily. She uses only it when she wants to whiten her teeth.

4. Message – 0.3s Clean + 0.15s Whiten in cycle. This one feels weird to me. Because of the clean cycles running through it I can’t use it. My wife really didn’t like it either.

As to battery life, we haven’t had to recharge it yet. We’ve been using it just under 2 weeks. Averaging about 8 minutes a day. The green charged LED status light is still green. So judging by how we use our electric toothbrush, we should hit that 15 day up time and get the Red LED needs charge status light on time.

Don’t worry about cleaning up or getting it wet. The Alfawise RST2056 Sonic Electric Toothbrush – White EU Plug is IPX7 Waterproof rated. To clean the brush, just rinse it off and remove any toothpaste from the brush head and body. Once finished, remove the head from the unit to dry and wipe down the base.

Final Thoughts

Overall I’m impressed with the unit and so is my wife. This is the first electric sonic toothbrush I can use without issues. We use it twice a day. After the battery test is completed I will use the toothbrush anytime I need to brush my teeth. As mentioned earlier, my wife is still using it even though most of the testing period is over. She plans to continue to use it and keep her old dentist recommend brand electric sonic toothbrush as a backup or use it when I go out of town take the Alfawise RST2056 Sonic Electric Toothbrush with me.

Another plus is the toothbrush heads are same style that Phillip Sonicare Toothbrushes use. We purchased a pack of 20 from Amazon last year so when the supplied heads run out I can grab one from the bulk pack.

Once I reach the need to recharge the battery. I will update the review if it doesn’t make the 15 day mark.

Even with the EU plug I highly recommend the Alfawise RST2056 Sonic Electric Toothbrush – White EU Plug. If you are traveling overseas you can take this brush with you and not need an adapter if traveling in a county that uses EU plugs. In the states just use an inexpensive adapter as I did.

As to price, the Alfawise RST2056 Sonic Electric Toothbrush – White EU Plug is listed on Gearbest for $25.52 (at the time of this review). You can purchase this tooth brush and a set of EU to US Power Adapters for less than most models of the dentist recommend brands.
