The Farmall International 460 Tractor

The International 460 Tractor was from the Farmall utility tractor series that ran from 1958 through 1963. This not so little guy came with an over-powered 3.6L 6 cylinder engine that was designed to work in a variety fields. This one was setup with a front-end loader and a narrow front/rear tires so it could be used as a row crop tractor.

While on I-35w heading towards Hillsboro, Texas, I came across this old abandoned tractor near Grandview, Texas. It looks like the owner just left it where it died or just parked it. The tires are dry rotted, flat, and sinking into the soil.

The battery is still pretty new and hasn’t started to fade due to the Texas sun. As for the tractor itself, it looks to be in good shape. It could use a paint job and a new front-load bucket put back on. O yeah, and a new set of tires.

About the Image

On this particular day, it was sunny, windy, and cold. But it was still a beautiful day with deep blue skies over Dallas Fort Worth. After my visit to the Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells and Fort Wolters, Texas, I decided to check out a lead in Carl’s Corner, Texas.

I took this shot by hand with my Sony Nex-3N with the pancake kit lens, then processed it with Adobe Lightroom. Then post processed the image with Topaz Labs Clarity to add more texture, remove shadows, boost brightness and contrast.
