Bartlett, Texas Historic District

Bartlett, Texas Historic District

The Bartlett Historic District in Bartlett, Texas and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The district is only two blocks and consists of early 20th century commercial row buildings on E. Clark street between State Highway 95 and the railroad tracks.

The buildings were built in the early 1900s and were mostly 1 story buildings that are still mostly intact and in decent condition. However many of these buildings have been remodeled. Today a good number of these buildings sit vacant or used for storage.

As I wondered downtown I found that the buildings seem to be in good condition and many of the buildings and could be restored and used if there is a need in the future. One section of town sits mostly vacant or used as storage. The other half from the looks of it looks to be used (I never went past State Highway 95 and Evie Street).

Bartlett is a great little town full of amazing old houses and buildings. When my wife and I had passed through town, we decided we just had to stop and explore downtown. At some point I will revisit and photograph more of the town and share the town’s history.

You may find Bartlett, Texas Historic District area familiar to you. If you are a fan of Walking Dead, they used the downtown area to film part of the show. In season 4 episode 2 they used the downtown  area for their show.

About the Image

Barltett, Texas Historic District image was shot by hand on a gloomy rainy day using my Sony a6000 and the Sony 16-50mm f3.5-5.6 OSS Power Zoom Lens. I then used Adobe Lightroom, and Google Nik Collection to remove noise and clean up the images.
