About the Abandoned Grain Elevator and Silos in Megargel, Texas

During my photo trips I am always on the look out for side trips and other abandoned vehicles and buildings. One of the unplanned stops I had to take was in the town in Megargel, Texas. Although this town isn’t the smallest town or a ghost town, it does have a quite a few abandoned buildings and cars. One set of abandoned buildings that caught my eyes was the grain elevator and the silos lined up along the highway. This abandoned grain elevator and silos take up a good stretch of what could be prime real estate along the highway if the town grew larger.

About the Image

This image was shot with my Sony Nex-3N with a Sigma 30mm f2.8 DN E Mount Lens, then I processed it with Adobe Lightroom to crop, straightened, and remove dust spots from the image. Then I post processed the image with Topaz Labs Clarity to add more texture, remove shadows, boost brightness, and contrast. Then processed in Topaz Black & White for the right black and white look.
