This week’s random picture of the week is of fall colors found in a single leaf. I know it’s not fall and we are going into spring but I wanted to share this image because I love fall colors and this leaf is a perfect example of East Texas Fall Color. Missed out on sharing this image last fall so I will share it now.

Fall Colors in East Texas

Fall Colors in East Texas

I love fall colors and I have seen the colors in Beavers Bend State Park in Oklahoma, Tyler State Park in Texas, and Daingerfield State Park in Texas. I have plans to check out other locations in the next few years. In East Texas, you can find the leaves starting to change in early November and Peaking around mid-month. But those estimates can change due to the weather.

To help you predict when the leaves will I found a prediction map from 2021, it’s for the Smokey Mountains but it shows predictions for the entire country. At least for the areas, we explored last year the map was accurate.

I came across this leaf while hiking Whispering Pines Trail at Tyler State Park a few years back and forgot that I even took the picture. When we made the trip, most of the color was gone but it was still a great hike and we plan to make the hike again during fall color at some point.

About the Images

The images were shot using my old Samsung Note 8. Due to the poor lighting conditions, I used Adobe Lightroom CC, Topaz Labs Denoise AI, AI, Topaz Labs Sharpen AI, Aurora HDR, and Luminar AI to clean up the images.
