This week’s random image is of a recently restored old mom and pop service station in Denison, Texas. I came across this old station while exploring near the older parts of the downtown area looking for old buildings and houses to photograph.  These old service stations are becoming harder to find. The surviving ones are renovated to the point you can’t tell they were an old station, trashed out or they were demolished when the current property owners found no need for a building of this size.

About the Old Mom and Pop Service Station

I couldn’t find much information the station. I could find was that the building was in 1940 and it was recently restored. It looks like its private use since there is not a sign up on the building.

About the Image

The service station was photographed on an early afternoon. I used my Sony a6000 and my Sony SELP18105G E PZ 18-105mm F4 G OSS lens. The image was then edited with Adobe Lightroom CC, Topaz Labs Denoise AI and Topaz Labs Sharpen AI and DXO NIK Collection
