This week’s random image is of an abandoned farm house that was hidden in the woods. By that, I mean the forest track of land was clear cut and an old farm house was found hidden at the back of the property.

Abandoned Farm House that was Hidden in the Woods

Back in June 2020 I was heading back from Monticello, Mississippi to Brookhaven when I noticed what looked to be an old farm house sitting far back on a recently cleared forested land track.

With friends and family living in the area I’ve traveled by this house multiple times over the years and never knew it was there.

The house sits so far back on the property I couldn’t get a close look but from the pictures the house looks to have been abandoned for years and is in rough shape. At one time this house was possibly sitting on a farm and surrounded by fields. But over time the owners no longer needed to farm so the trees grew back and eventually retook the land.

If anyone knows more about this house, please contact me or comment below.

About the Images

Normally I do not share multiple pictures on my random pictures articles but, I won’t be posting about this house again. So I wanted to share a close up shot of the house.

The image was shot near sunset with the sun below the tree line created shadows with my Sony a6000 and my Sony SELP18105G E PZ 18-105mm F4 G OSS lens with a Gobe UV Filter using a monopod. I then edited the image with Adobe Lightroom CC and Topaz Labs Denoise AI and Topaz Labs Sharpen AI and DXO NIK Collection to clean up the images, remove noise, and recover the lost details.
