Paige Falls and Broadwater Falls – Dry Season

This week’s random image was taken during our June 2023 Summer Vacation to the Buffalo National Park River. The picture is one of the waterfalls found on the Paige Falls and Broadwater Falls Trail near Compton, Arkansas. Unfortunately, the creek was mostly dry.

Paige Falls and Broadwater Falls Trail – Dry Season

I mentioned above we explored this quarter trail mainly to check out the falls. After finding the creek was mostly dry we decided to head back to the car when found the first waterfall and it was only a trickle. I will give this trail a proper write in the near future.

I do not recommend this trail unless it’s the rainy season. The pictures I found online make me think the trail is worth another visit.

If you decide to check out this trail, you will need a 4WD or an AWD to get back up the road. The road is a mixture of rock and dirt. It isn’t in good condition and was rough. Plus the grade is steep enough that a 2WD vehicle may have issues getting up and down.

About the Image

I took this shot with my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and was edited using Adobe Lightroom CC, Topaz Labs Denoise AI and Topaz Labs Sharpen AI, and  Aurora HDR (no longer available but still a great product) to clean up the image. You can create the same effects from Aurora HDR with Luminiar Neo (partner discount codes: JJOHNSTPHOTOG10 – 10% off or JJOHNSTPHOTOG – $10 off) and edit your images.
